Make It Vegan: The Mediterranean Summer

In the Make It Vegan series, we select the most inspiring fashion shows of the season—this time, it’s Etro SS2025 from Milan Fashion Week—and take aesthetic inspiration to curate a selection of vegan items that fit the bill, both figuratively and literally.

Etro Spring-Summer 2025

It’s a Mediterranean garden in full bloom. In fact, Marco De Vincenzo’s floral motifs are so vivid, one might even call them psychedelic – and as each model walks past to the beat of Daniela Pes, a Sardinian singer-songwriter who has managed to make electronic music sound almost ritualistic by using the old Gallurese dialect of northeastern Sardinia, one can’t help but feel positively imbued with a kaleidoscope of bold colours and prints – of which agave leaves are merely the beginning of the trip.

There is also something spiritual in the way De Vincenzo interprets feminine silhouettes. The interplay between what clings tightly and what flares with strength, combined with the prints, patterns and textures, evokes ancient Mediterranean tales of priestesses serving their goddesses in phantasmagorical skirts and breast-baring corsets. Rather than simply highlighting body shapes – which could otherwise risk crossing the fine line between sensuality and objectification – De Vincenzo’s women are ultimately aware of their feminine power, and harvest from it as they would from ripe plants and fruits.

While we await the day when all these pieces are available in vegan alternatives, here’s our curated selection from our favourite vegan fashion brands.
