VFR offers independent editorial product reviews exploring the design, materials, functionality, quality and performance of selected vegan and innovative fashion products.
Product eligibility: We exclusively consider products made using innovative, animal-free materials. We do not accept products made from rPET, PU or PVC. All product components, including finishes, adhesives and other auxiliary materials, must also meet VFR’s editorial criteria. Please do not enquire about products that fall outside these requirements.
Each review involves an editorial assessment of the product, taking into account its intended purpose, material composition, craftsmanship, practical use and overall performance. Where relevant, the review may also consider the product’s durability and how it responds to regular use.
Products provided specifically for review will not be returned, as they may be used and handled throughout the assessment process.
Participation does not guarantee a positive review or a particular editorial conclusion. VFR retains full control over the review process, its methodology and the final editorial assessment.
1. Editorial Product Review
The Editorial Product Review takes the form of a detailed editorial case study examining a selected product from both a design and materials perspective.
Depending on the product, the review may cover:
- Product overview: design concept, intended purpose, functionality and distinctive features.
- Materials & innovation: material composition, origin, production technology and the innovative aspects of the materials used.
- Design & craftsmanship: construction, finishing, quality and attention to detail.
- Performance in use: practical functionality, handling, comfort and observed performance.
- Durability: initial observations on wear, resistance and material behaviour, where relevant and possible.
The resulting article offers readers an informed assessment of the product, placing its design and material innovation in a broader fashion industry context.
2. VFR YouTube: Product Testing & Reviews (coming soon)
VFR is currently developing a YouTube series exploring how vegan and innovative fashion products perform and age over time.
Selected products will undergo initial testing and a video review published on YouTube, followed by further assessments after approximately six and twelve months, depending on the product and the terms agreed individually.
Products selected for the series will not be returned, as they will be used throughout the testing and review period.
