Vegan Fashion Repository (VFR) works with brands, material innovators, designers, manufacturers and other fashion-industry organisations through a range of paid editorial and content collaborations. Paid content and placements are clearly disclosed.
Our collaborations offer brands well-researched exposure while upholding the editorial standards and material criteria that underpin VFR.
1. Before We Collaborate: VFR Inclusion Criteria
Payment does not guarantee inclusion in Vegan Fashion Repository.
Every potential collaboration begins with an eligibility check. We proceed only with brands, products, materials or organisations that meet the criteria for inclusion in VFR’s main editorial and brand directories.
If a proposal does not meet our criteria, we will decline the collaboration and will not accept payment.
Tier 1 — Essential criteria
The following criteria are non-negotiable for inclusion in VFR’s main editorial and brand directories:
- No animal-derived materials or components, including ingredients, adhesives, finishes and other relevant components. Vegan certification is encouraged.*
- Preference for recycled synthetic materials. Where synthetic materials are used, the majority should be recycled, wherever applicable. Relevant recycled-material certification is encouraged.*
- Demonstrable lower-impact or regenerative practices. At least one relevant practice must be demonstrable, such as limited production or made-to-order models, prevention of overproduction, use of recycled materials, regenerative agriculture, responsible sourcing, renewable energy, waste reduction, closed-loop or circular production systems, water reduction and reuse, or repair and durability programmes.
- Responsible and ethical production. At least one relevant practice must be demonstrable, such as fair wages, safe working conditions, supply-chain transparency, local or regional production where appropriate, or responsible relationships with manufacturers and suppliers. Relevant social or ethical certifications are encouraged.*
Tier 2 — Additional qualities we particularly welcome
These qualities are not mandatory but can strengthen a brand’s fit with VFR:
- Innovative materials, including next-generation bio-based and biotechnology-enabled materials, materials with little or no plastic content, lab-grown or fermentation-derived materials, and other emerging material technologies.
- Active research and development of next-generation, low-impact materials and technologies.
- Artisanal production and meaningful collaboration with local craftspeople, particularly where this helps preserve or develop traditional crafts.
- Meaningful charitable or community contributions.
- Other demonstrable approaches that contribute to a more animal-free, low-impact, transparent and accountable fashion system.
*About Certifications: while relevant certifications can provide useful independent evidence of materials, production practices and supply-chain claims, we are also aware that obtaining relevant certifications is costly and time-consuming, particularly for new and small businesses. Therefore, where a relevant certification is unavailable or not currently affordable, we assess the available information on a case-by-case basis. We may request additional documentation, supplier information, material specifications or other evidence before approving a collaboration.
2. Collaboration Formats
Once a proposal has passed our inclusion check, we can discuss the most appropriate format.
Editorial link placement — €120 (fixed fee)

Placement of a relevant link within an existing VFR article, where we consider it genuinely useful and contextually appropriate for our readers. We select the article and placement at our editorial discretion. Paid links are identified to search engines using rel=”sponsored” or another suitable link attribute.
Kindly note this service does not guarantee search-engine rankings, traffic, conversions or other performance outcomes.
Editorial link placement service is also available to brands seeking inclusion in The Vegan Curator, VFR’s monthly selection of vegan fashion items organised around a specific theme and published on the first Monday of each month.
Editorial review based on brand-supplied materials — €300 (fixed fee)

Approximately 600–1,000 words
This format is intended for brands seeking an editorial article developed primarily from information and materials they supply.
This is not a press-release publication service.
We do not publish press releases verbatim. Instead, we assess the information provided against our editorial standards and develop the article in VFR’s own editorial voice. We may request further information or clarification where this would provide useful context for our readers. However, unlike original editorial features (description below), this format relies primarily on client-supplied materials.
Example: A Quest for Circularity: The Story Behind Pleatsmama
Original editorial feature — from €600 (individually quoted)

Approximately 800–1,500 words
For projects requiring more in-depth editorial coverage, our team develops original features — including interviews and extended brand profiles — based on independent research and, where relevant, interviews. This may include:
– Research beyond the materials supplied by the brand.
– Interviews with founders, designers, material developers or other relevant people.
– Examination of the brand’s materials, production practices and wider context.
– Additional fact-checking and background research.
– Development of an original editorial angle by VFR.
We particularly value working with brands we already know and whose products or stores we have experienced personally. For brands new to us, we take the time to understand the company, its products, materials and approach before developing the feature. The final article is written and edited by VFR and remains subject to our editorial standards.
Examples:
Closing the Loop. The Story of RubyMoon
Follow the Tree. The Story of Shiringa, the Bio-leather Made from Amazonian Tree Sap
Good Enough Is Not Good Enough. The Story Behind Estimon
Event coverage — €1,000 (fixed fee)

Approximately 1,500–2,500 words
On-site editorial coverage of a fashion, materials, design or industry event, including attendance by a VFR editorial representative. Coverage may include the event, its key speakers, designers, products, materials and wider context, depending on the nature of the event.
The article is researched, written and edited by VFR and remains subject to our editorial standards. Coverage does not guarantee a favourable editorial conclusion or particular claims about the event, brand or products.
Travel, accommodation and other reasonable expenses, including registration fees where applicable, are covered by the client and agreed in advance. Additional photography, video, interviews, pre-event coverage, live reporting and other deliverables can be quoted separately. This service does not include professional event photography.
Examples:
Crafting Regenerative Fashion: The Current Shifts and the Way Forward
Inside the Shift Towards a Circular Fashion System: People, Data and Values
Factory visits, material testing & extended reporting (individually quoted)

For projects involving factory visits, in-person material research, product testing, extended reporting or other substantial editorial work, we prepare an individual quotation based on the scope of the assignment.
Unless otherwise agreed, travel, accommodation and other reasonable expenses, including registration and visa fees where applicable, are covered by the client and agreed in advance.
The scope and specific terms are agreed before work begins.
VFR YouTube: Product Testing & Reviews (coming soon)

VFR is currently developing a YouTube series exploring how vegan and innovative fashion items perform and age over time. Selected products will undergo initial testing and a video review published on YouTube, followed by further assessments after approximately six and twelve months, depending on the product and the terms agreed individually.
Products provided for the series will not be returned, as they will be used extensively throughout the testing and review period.
Participation does not guarantee a positive review or a particular editorial conclusion. VFR retains control over the testing methodology and final editorial assessment.
3. The Process
Our process is designed to make collaboration straightforward while preserving VFR’s editorial independence.
1. Initial enquiry
Please email hello@veganfashionrepository.com with:
- Your brand or company name and website.
- Your preferred collaboration format, or details of an alternative proposal.
- The product, collection, material or project you would like us to cover.
- Relevant material and production information, including available certifications or supporting documentation.
- Your preferred publication timeframe.
For product-based collaborations, please also include details of the products you would like us to consider.
We strongly recommend contacting us at least 6–8 weeks before your desired publication date. We will do our best to accommodate your preferred timeframe, but cannot guarantee availability, particularly for requests made at short notice.
2. Eligibility check and quotation
We assess each proposal against VFR’s inclusion criteria. The initial eligibility check is completed within 72 business hours. Please note that we may request additional information or documentation beyond what has already been provided.
If the brand meets our inclusion criteria, we will inform the client and confirm the proposed format, scope, fee and estimated timeline. The collaboration is confirmed once the client has accepted the offer in writing and agreed to the applicable terms and conditions.
3. Content development and review
Once the collaboration has been confirmed and all required materials have been received or made available, VFR will begin the agreed work.
Where appropriate, the client receives a draft for factual and technical verification before publication, including checks of product specifications, names, technical details and other relevant factual information. This review does not extend to changing the editorial angle, requiring positive conclusions or otherwise controlling VFR’s editorial judgement.
4. Publication and follow-up
Following factual review, VFR finalises and publishes the agreed content on an agreed date with appropriate commercial disclosures. Publication dates may be subject to change for editorial or technical reasons, including delays in factual or technical verification, quote approval, payment, or circumstances beyond VFR’s control.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the collaboration covers the agreed publication or placement only. Kindly note that VFR does not guarantee traffic, impressions, conversions, sales, search-engine rankings or other commercial results.
Minor factual corrections may be made after publication. Substantial changes, additional reporting, republication or new promotional assets may incur an additional fee, subject to a separate agreement. After publication, VFR may update, amend or remove content where reasonably necessary for factual, legal, editorial or technical reasons, or where required by law.
4. Payment Terms
All fees, payment schedules and additional expenses are confirmed before a collaboration is agreed.
Fixed-price services up to €300: payment in full in advance. For editorial link placements, payment must be received before the link is added. For other services, payment is due before production begins or, where agreed, before publication.
Individually quoted projects: VFR’s standard payment terms are a 50% deposit upon confirmation of the collaboration, with the remaining 50% payable before publication. Projects involving substantial production costs, such as travel or third-party expenses, may require a different payment schedule, agreed individually in advance.
Fees are quoted in euros and are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.VAT is applied in accordance with the rules applicable to the transaction.
If a project is cancelled after work has begun, the client may be charged for work completed and any non-refundable expenses reasonably incurred, in accordance with the agreed terms and applicable law. Any amount paid in excess of the amount due will be refunded.
For full payment, invoicing and cancellation terms, please see our Terms & Conditions for Paid Collaborations.
5. Editorial Independence, Claims & Responsibility

Paid collaborations do not override VFR’s editorial standards or material inclusion criteria. Payment does not guarantee favourable coverage or a particular editorial conclusion.
A client is responsible for the accuracy and substantiation of the information and claims they supply, including those relating to materials, environmental impact, certifications, manufacturing processes, labour conditions and product performance. VFR may request supporting evidence and reserves the right to qualify, contextualise or omit claims that cannot be adequately substantiated.
VFR may decline, postpone, amend, suspend or withdraw a collaboration where reasonable concerns arise about the accuracy of information, the substantiation of claims, compliance with applicable law or continued eligibility under our inclusion criteria. Further details, including the handling of payments and work already completed, are set out in our Terms & Conditions for Paid Collaborations.
The client must ensure that they hold all necessary rights and permissions for the commercial use of any materials supplied to VFR, including text, images, videos and logos.
6. Disclosure & Transparency
VFR is committed to making commercial relationships transparent to readers. Paid editorial content and products placements are clearly identified using prominent labels such as Advertisement or Sponsored Content, or other wording appropriate to the format and required by applicable law. Paid links are also identified for search engines using rel=”sponsored” or another suitable link attribute, in accordance with applicable search-engine policies.
Where products or services are provided specifically for review, VFR will assess the arrangement and apply the appropriate disclosure.
In all cases, VFR retains full editorial control over the angle, wording, presentation and conclusions of its content, including where clients provide information or review drafts for factual accuracy. Our full contractual terms are available in the Terms & Conditions for Paid Collaborations.
